Abelia x grandiflora 'Sherwoodii'
'Sherwoodii' is a compact, rounded to spreading, semi-evergreen to evergreen shrub with arching branches bearing ovate, glossy, shallowly toothed, dark green leaves flushed purple and bronze winter. Panicles of fragrant, funnel-shaped, white to pale pink flowers bloom from summer into autumn.
Plant in autumn or spring in moist but well-drained soil, in a sheltered, sunny site. Best planted against a wall or in a full bed where neighboring shrubs provide shelter. May die back to the ground in the coldest areas of its range. These shrubs will be smaller. Will reach a height of 1.2m and a spread of 1.5m after 5-10 years.
