Acer rubrum 'October Glory' (Red maple)
October Glory' is a rounded to open, deciduous tree with red flowers in spring and glossy, ovate, lobed, dark green leaves, blue-white beneath and turning bright red in autumn. Upright clusters of tiny, red flowers in spring are followed by winged fruit.
Grow in moist but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade with shelter from cold winds and late frosts. Grow in acid soil for best autumn colour. Will reach a height of 20m and a spread of 10m after 20-50 years.
